I see a lot of members being more passive.
What we would like to do is, if you an idea we are willing to listen. Before that, we would also like to share in this "Meet & Greet" event what IV has done so far and its accomplishments.
Lot of members proably look at IV as a forum where just threads are being created to discuss their problems.
But IV is not a just a web-site. IV has more out-reaching efforts to resolve the problem of backlog of employment-based green cards.
If you are from Long Island and you feel you would like to do something to resolve this immigration crisis, align yourself in this thread.
I hope more smaller "meet & greet" is the only way to lead ourselves to the "BIG RALLY" / "BIG INTIATIVE" what everyone wants. Without grassroots effort, a RALLY or any other BIG INITIATIVE is not going to happen.
We can only look at EADs for two years or Advance Parole cards come in package with the EAD without grassroot efforts. But if you want to bypass all these smaller incentives and look at the end result of getting your green cards, join your state chapters.

The only problem is that she started working from Jan 2008. From Oct 2007 to Dec 2007 she was not working. So I donot have her W2 and neither the paystubs. I do have the joint tax return that I filed in 2007, but that does not have her income. Is it possible to say that she was on leave during this period for personnel reason?

I got a letter from Zoe Lofgren's office, who is a Member of Congress representing California 16th District, in response to one of our web faxes on H-1B cap and GC backlogs. Below is the complete text from the letter -- it's heartening to know we are on their radar at least!
Now that we got their attention, is there anything we should do to follow up on this now?

As you know, the Republicans now lead in the House of Representatives, Senate, and White House. As such, Republicans control what bills and amendments are considered in committees and on the floor of the House of Representatives. They have taken no action for reform but have proposed legislating on a money bill in violation of House rules. Should Senate Judiciary Committee's H-1B proposal come before me in the House of Representatives, I will certainly consider your point of view.

I don't intend to get a second H-1.. The second job that I want to do is just 3-5hrs a week and dont want any sponsorship for it.
Even if you work 1 hour a week, you need an H1 to be able to put on payroll at the other company. Otherwise, it constitutes illegal employment.

Aha, I think I see what you're going for. It could work if for instance there was a more directional light like a strong light from the right, and the left and back of the firefighter was darker.
