Hello , Basically i was working in company B for a long time and they applied GC. Then I shifted to comp A and filed labor recently.
The company B was not doing good and for safety sake applied GC in company A also

I did apply PIO for my daughter 3 weeks ago and it's still processing. This is NY consulate. The status simply says couple more days!

My lawyer asked me to use A# on OPT card as the A# on my 485 application. USCIS does not normally assign A# when 140 is approved. There are only rare scenarios when it does that. Please use the A# on your opt card so that USCIS can easily find your records from the student days.
I was a student on f1 and had applied and used my OPT period. The OPT card has A#. I am applying I-485 with I-140 pending and have I-140 reciept

May be you need to amend I-140. Please consult a good attorney/lawyer.

I e-filed my AP and did not send any documents and just received an RFE requesting 2 photographs(write alien number with pencil in the back) and a preferably color photocopy of a photo ID.
So, please make sure that you send those supporting documents with the e file receipt to USCIS. They give out the address and instructions at the end of the application which are easy to follow.
Nevertheless, I e Filed EAD too and did not send any supporting documents and they approved it without issuing any RFE. They used an older picture from my previous EAD.

I had my h1 extension from 2009 and I went to Kolkata for stamping in Jan2011..surprised to see there was a desi VO(may be US citizen). he interviewed me and it was smooth, he asked about the company and looked in my past tax returns and approved for visa. He did not even asked about client letter or any agreement. I worked in anther country for 4 yrs that he asked and confirmed though.
I work for a small consulting company, this was my 2nd extension.

Long wait is over....

"As such you do not need H1 due to new rule on OPT, however; you need to check if the H1 was applied for change of status? If it is a change of status application, you need to probably inform USCIS that you will not be changing status to H1."
Is there any way I can check if th H1 was applied for change of status without information from the company lawyer?

Does she have EAD? If not on H1, she needs to be in EAD. (or other status like F1 etc). Otherwise she is out of status. In that case, H1 will be denied because an H1 application while out of status will lead to denial.

My dad health is not stable and has been admitted to hospital. I would like to visit him. Does this qualify for emergency appointment. Mine is H1 revalidation.
Also please let me know what forms I need to complete before going to india.

the below are the reasons VFS mentioned when i was going for revalidation
1.Returning worker
2. For attending a funeral
3. If some family member is seriously ill
But things change i would advise you to check the website it tells u clearly who qualify for the emergency appointment. Also write to the consulate with your situation they will definately respond to you.

Very Interesting set of links. We need to respond to each of these journalists thanking for any positive coverage but also highlighting the specific issues that is causign the backlog (7% per country limit and lack of visa recapture). We need to request that attention be paid to this aspect and how removal of per-country limit is neccessary to eliminate the greencard backlogs (and that visa recapture will at least provide limited relief). Most of such articles praise high-skilled immigrants but do not get to the root of the issue and the possible solutions. We need some folks to help with this IV media outreach.
