A freind of mine had two years EAD and don't have H1 anymore. His drivers License was denied as EAD is not considered a valid document for drivers License extention.
This happened in Wayne , NJ.
I too will be going for the renewal soon. Did anyone else faced similar situtation. If yes, how did they resolve?

I filed my I485 mid 2003. I missed the boat end of 2004, some where in 2005 and then in 2007 when my dates were current. My pd is in 2002. People who filed with me have been approved and they are ready for citizenship next year :mad:, while I got my 6th EAD approved

I have not left the USA for the last 5 years. I have since extended my H1- thrice. So I have 3 new I-94's and the old one that is stapled in the passport. I-94 is taken at the airport when you depart, to record your departure and also to see if you were residing legally on a valid stay. Question: They always take the one stapled in your pasport. (That in my case shows an expired stay.) so should I give them the latest I-94 when I depart?.
You should take a copy of the I-797's and detach the portion of it and staple with the existing I-94. If you read the I-797 carefully, they mentioned it to put it in your passport, means, all I-94s must be handed over before you leave. Sometimes, you may have different I-94 numbers, so it is better to give all I-94's.
You can not do anything by retaining those I-94s after you leave, just take a copy and give them back.
BUT, make sure that it is in valid period. If you have got a new I-797, where the period has not started, DO NOT GIVE IT BACK, take it with you to the consulate. Give I-94's only up to the period you are leaving.

Yes, according to this report. They have a law office in India too and handle local cases on the ground.
According to the article this is a follow up of the 2010 employer-employee memo. Insome cases they are giving the 221g before even reviewing the docs. Strangest things is H4s now have to provide almost as much docs as a H1b - really tough for the married people among you.

Very nice. I just watched the video.. Feels like Obama is sitting in front of me asking me what my problem is.. Never had this opportunity before right.. He asks us to use internet to tell him what our problems are and also allows us to vote. Though we are not Citizens. He is not asking us to register using SSN or anything and filtering only Citizens.. Its open to all.. Go and tell your problem and also DO vote on relevant topics.
Since its related to economy, related your GC problem to a solution on how you can make a difference to economy by jobs and by buying houses.. Please do it.

Let me start off by saying this is simply not the right forum for such discussions. You are better off using monster.com or some other job related sights.
As far as changing the fields go, assuming you have the authorization to work - you can change. But QA jobs these days are hard to come by and mostly happens in different countries and most of the existing jobs have been bangalored. And an effective QA job requires some kind of experience in the software development or related field. A non effective QA job is simply testing and chances of you retaining the job for more than 2 years is very slim. The thinking behind that is a more person gets involved with testing, the more he/she understands the testing and less rigorous the testing becomes.
SAP courses are good once you understand the nuts and bolts. But its challenging and requires you to have lots of people skills and ability to convince people that their business must run per SAP and not viceversa. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Why would they ban non-immigrants from investing when there is ZERO loss for the country?
Its upto each individual to evaluate their priorities and go ahead and move their investments. I have already done it as I am just an alien waiting for permanent residency and I do not want my money stuck in any of the investment vehicles in a foreign land making it difficult for me to take it along with me when the day comes to leave the country.

Oh yeah "layer 1" just refers to the layer with the original shape and "layer 2" just refers to the layer with the fill. They assume you aren't giving names to your layers which is why they have it in quotes.

you guys are missing the point. contest rules have to be followed to the letter because they are a legal contract. if the rules state that the parents have to be legal residents then that's the way it is. if they decide to change the rules for the next contest due to political pressure , fine. but now they are opening themselves up to lawsuits for not following their own contract. i think it's funny how so many people are in favor of breaking the law as long as it suits their agenda. oh wait these are all people in favor of people breaking the law to come to america illegally. correct me if i'm wrong.
why are we assuming that the parents are illegals?? as far as I know, it has not been reported anywhere in the media that the parents were here illegally. if it has, please post relevant links.

For IRS purposes, 180 days or more on a valid non immig. worker status and you are a legal resident.....

I think another argument would be to request a statistics of how many actual terrorists or big criminals FBI caught during that "name check" process. Why would a terrorist apply for LC/I-140/I-485, go to FP, sit at the same address for years, provide his true identity and real (not fake) documents, and wait while FBI will check his name? And then he will sit and wait until FBI will knock his door? Did FBI catch at least ONE person during that process?
