I am in the same boat and need to get my address updated. So what I understand from above posts is that there is no need to do paper based AR11 and can just do it online for I-485, EAD as well as AP, right?? Once done, just keep printouts for records , thats it???

I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?
Complete medicals without the vaccines, etc which cannot be taken during pregnancy. The Civil surgeon shoould make a note on the medical report that the applicant is pregnant and so medical is incomplete.
When your 485 is picked up for processing, an RFE will be issued and then she can complete the rest.

I had the same situation for my daughter who turned 14.They requested for biometric fee $80.00.It should be simple and OK.just pay the the amount and you should be fine.After that you may get a FP notice.
Once we sent the bimetric fee,proceesing resumed and everything was fine.

I really don't understand the logic of fees. PLease correct me if I am wrong here -I thought there is a 'lock-in-date' which is at the elegibility data at the time of filing. This saves all concerns of aging out and issues regarding fees. They can't keep asking for enhanced fees for already filed cases.

i predict the november 2008 visa bulletin will come out on monday, october 13,2008. however, even if all categories will become current, it is still useless as the processing dates of the different service centers have processing times of july 2007. hence, almost everybody will not be able to have their papers processed.

So which is better, LOA or termination of job? Hard choice..
LOA till you get a job. LOA will maintain your H1b or EAD status with the same company.
BTW, H1b to EAD is seamless, you needn't go out of the country to use EAD instead. On EAD you can work in a similar job. Talk to your attorney.

Generally just filing an H1 extension is orthogonal to filng I-485. However in your case it looks like your I-94 has expired, so to prove your status your lawyer needs to include a copy of your H1 extension receipt

Correct! One can only file EAD or AP when applying for I-485 when dates are current or after getting I-485 notice.
But you cannot apply for first EAD/AP before applying for 485, correct? I would be surprised if we can apply for EAD/AP just after LC or 140 approval and when dates are not current for 485.
