Invite the Senators to this meeting.
Make them come since we pay Taxes. That way , they know that there is legal Immigration Community .
Invite the Heads of DMV so that they can address our driving problems
Invite SSN people local heads.
When we do this, we can pay for their expenses to join us in that meet.
I am open to it. Not only by contribution but also working.
Try to get IV members to join the State chapters first. Try to get the community to support IV first. Try to get the community make phone cals send letters first.
It is a step by step process. We have to get enough buzz and enough support from within our own community before we can call politicians or VIPs to come to our meets and greets

Can someone please clarify with AC21 can I take up a job Position as "IT PROJECT MANAGER 11-3021.00" whereas my EB3 Labor is filed as "Computer Programmers - 15-1021.00" ?
My I-485 is still pending past 180 days and I-140 is approved.

Americans want immigrants like yourself who follow the rules and contribute to American society; it is our valued tradition. What we don't want is illegals walking all over our laws. The illegals hurt lawfull immigrants. I married an immigrant who followed the rules, she's very bitter over the way this country is pandering to the Hispanic Reconquista crowd. Americans don't want the amnesty, but the government is pushing for it. Legal immigrants and applicants, IMO, should stand up and be heard to fight anmesty as well.

I have decided to go for the SB-600 rather than the 800 because I don't think I need the extra functions at this point. It will save on $$$ and weight too.

You also have faster recharge since the flash is slightly less powerful but perfectly adequate... I was going to get an SB-800 but ended up with two SB-600s for now for the same price.
I will likely get one SB-800 (and maybe another SB-600) when I get my D2x so that I have commander mode available.
the two SB-600s I have have been great for the month I've had them - if your only body is a D70 you're golden - you can use the sb-5B-600 on remote and use the built in D70 flash as commander.

We got married in a temple and returned the license to the County Clerk's office.
We can't mention martial status as married due to family reasons.
We are fine applying with martial status as single independently since both of our PD is current now.
Will they find this discrepancy martial status during background check? I'm unsure whether these will appear in the background check in the first place.

It is better to contact a attorney or other relavent family/marraiage law counsulars. It is very important. USCIS treats if vigorosly this issue, as marriage realted fraud is very high in immigration benefits, particularly in FB catagory.

I have been filling up I-485 all day . Online forms sent from attorney but no help with topics. I am confused by these
Visa Number - is this a number that is stamped on your passport when u entered US? My visa in passport expired long time back. I have my WAC number- is that what is required to enter?
Alien Number - is this the I-94 number?

I don't want you to freak out because my case is probably a very small fraction of the visa applications BUT since this thread is specifically related to PIMS, I thought I'd give you my example. Good news for you is, you are going to India. I was stuck in Canada not knowing long it might take for the PIMS to get updated. I ended up touring North Canada but I wish I could've traveled with a peace of mind.

Its true that Consulting companies take a good part of your BILL-RATE but other stuffs may not be THAT bad.
I'm working thru such a small company for last 3 years and this is my 4th client... 3 of the 4 clients were provided by them, no bench so far. They dont give me BillRate share but we work with a Negotiated Resonable salary based on the Cost of Living of the City where i work/consult for.....
Discuss the Terms and put in email as well as Paper before Joining - Be on Top of them even if they want to change a single spelling in that Terms Paper. You got to be very tough , aggressive as well as resistive with them for any changes they want to script against you.
I have been working for state government from past 3 years (approx) under a non-caped H1b with EB2 2006 labor cleared and i-140 pending and 485 filed in aug.
Considering the constraints of non-cap h1b , I asked a consultant to apply for my caped h1b in april. At that time 485 was not current and according to my estimation my PD would not have become current for 2-3 years more, so I thought of moving with a caped h1b to private firm. You all know what happened in july regarding 485.
Recently my caped H1b got approved. Since I have already filed for 485, I have decided to be with present firm for 6 months then think of changing using the new caped h1b and AC21 to private firm through consultant.
But I have heard that when one works for consultant, its easy not to get paid for certain months during project transition or while looking for project. With the result�.its affects the H1b status. Now that my immigration status is clean, is it worth moving to consultant and risk my clean status�??? Is working for consultant a big compromise against immigration status�??? Also i need to look for a job identical to my labour. I� m basically into web and database application in sql server 2005 , asp.net with ajax. What�s the market for these skill looks like�????

Yes. Its simple math. But if it was 10K visas a year, then why did they have to jump forward by more than 2 yrs? Nobody knows how USCIS works internally. The math that v have and the one that they have differ a lot and unexpected things (for good or bad) happen all the time.
in 1999-2000 ISNAmerica group was formed by immigrants affected by backlogs...it dissipated with the AC21 rule being passed...I hope and pray that immigrationvoice does not go away like that... I was referring to current job location BEFORE filing for I-485 application. A person can be out of H1 status if he/she is working on a location that is different from mentioned in the H1 LCA. This is something not many people are aware of.

My lawyer is arguing that a MS degree in CS would be sufficient evenif I don't have a BS CS degree.
I didn't realize my attorney was too incompetent when I hired him. The sole purpose of appointing an attorney was to make my life easy. Rather he is giving me a hard time.
Mention clearly what is indicated in job requirements. If the labor did not allow for BS in any enggg or related engg and just asked for BS in CS your I-140 will be denied for sure. No need to wait for the denial. Why did your attorney filed a labor like that for you knowing you do not have BS in CS.

I would go with the FAQ released on July 23 (since it is the latest) instead of the Direct Filing update released on June 21.
Where was your I-140 applied (if it is not concurrent with 485)?
Also, Q6 says the following:
Q6: What happens if an application is filed at the wrong Service Center?

My husband is the primary applicant for our GC application and he's on bench since Feb 2009. We have valid EAD and AP's. We are planning to travel using our AP for a 3 week visit to India.
Our question....Is it sensible to travel on AP him being unemployed?
This is my openion.
Your husband is no more on H1b and liable to use EAD on his next job.
AP is based on pending I485, you do not have to work and legally present in US as long as 485 is pending. Since your pending I485 is based on future job, POE IO might ask for the EVL letter from the sponsoring employer to check the integrity of the case, though not very common.
